Staff Accountant – Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Assistant Vice President – Accounting and working closely with other management, the Staff Accountant will be based in Fort Lauderdale and play an important role in our Accounting team.

• Prepare month end close workpapers
• Book all monthly entries
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations
• Complete internal and external reports as needed
• Maintain the organization of the paperless environment
• Collaborate with others in the department to support overall department goals and objectives
• Assist in development and implementation of new procedures to enhance the workflow of the department
• Document workflows and understanding of processes
• Complete other assignments and projects as directed

Qualifications

• At least 2 years’ experience in accounting
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
• Self-motivated with the ability to work in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
• Ability to interact with colleagues at all levels in and outside the organization
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Reliable and trustworthy
• A team player with strong collaborative skills and desire to work in a dynamic and growing environment.  
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Fluent in English; we are in an international business and languages other than English are a plus
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
