The Commercial Transaction team is primarily responsible for overseeing the negotiation and project management of aircraft and engine leasing, financing, sales, and purchase transactions starting from the pre-LoI stage. The Vice President, Commercial Transactions plays a role in shaping deal strategy and driving execution, acting as an interface between internal stakeholders and external partners, including OEMs, airlines, purchasers, sellers, financiers, legal advisors, and suppliers. The role requires strong commercial acumen, negotiation and diplomacy skills, attention to detail, and project management capabilities to ensure successful, value-added outcomes that support both the company’s growth objectives and its customers’ operational needs.

Reporting to the Senior Vice President – Commercial Transactions, and working closely with other members of the team, the Vice President – Commercial Transactions will be based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida or Dublin, Ireland and will be an integral part of the cross-functional “Deal Teams” that structure and execute transactions to build our business and help our customers succeed.

Vice President – Commercial Transactions – Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a partner to the Marketing team and leadership in shaping and executing commercial strategies from pre-LOI stage through contract execution and closing and/or delivery. 
• Project manage and coordinate activities of the “Deal Team” (Legal, Marketing, Technical, Tax, OEM, etc.) aligned with our Sox lite or subsequent processes in preparation and negotiation of all transaction documents.
• Oversee commercial negotiations at the contract stage for aircraft and engine transactions with customers, financiers, OEMs and other industry participants.Coordinate all relevant aspects of lease, trading, and financing transactions with internal groups (i.e. Finance, Treasury, Risk, Pricing, Tax) and external partners (i.e.  insurance, legal).
• Manage transactions to ensure smooth and timely execution within budget, while maintaining the economic integrity of the deal from LOI through closing and/or delivery.
• Play key role in implementing the risk management framework through optimal structuring, collaboration, robust documentation, and attention to detail.
• Supports the delivery and redelivery process in coordination with OEMs, lessees, financiers, and internal teams including Technical, Legal, Finance and Treasury.
• Provide commercial support and on-going account management throughout the transaction lifecycle (ie deliveries/redeliveries; restructuring; repossession; amendments, etc.) in coordination with the Marketing, Commercial, Legal, and Finance Teams.
• Facilitate and lead a post-transaction de-brief, hand-off, and transaction review to improve clarity and drive continuous process improvements within the Commercial function and broader organization. 
• In key customer-facing role, develop broad commercial understanding & expand customer relationships in collaboration with Marketing and other teams.
• Coordinate the relevant post-LoI execution approval process (internal as well as counterparty) to ensure adherence to our corporate governance processes and procedures.
• Mentor and support the development of colleagues; foster the mindset and culture of a collaborative and solution-driven team.
• Other responsibilities may be required from time to time.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in aircraft leasing, finance, or related commercial roles.
• Broad knowledge of the various issues that can arise in aircraft leasing transactions (commercial, technical, legal, financial, and logistical), along with a strong understanding/familiarity with contractual documentation and understanding of the aviation industry. 
• Strong negotiation, interpersonal, problem-solving, and time management skills.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• A collaborative team player with the ability to motivate and lead cross-functional teams and multi-party transactions, while building relationships with customers, OEMs, financiers, and other lessors.
• Willingness and ability to travel internationally.
• Formal professional training (e.g. legal, banking, or an aviation-related field) with experience in aviation specific contracts or a degree in business or law.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work in a high-paced environment.
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to interact with colleagues at all levels in and outside the organization.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Reliable and trustworthy.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.)
• Fluent in English; we are in an international business and languages other than English are a plus.
