Staff Accountant – Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Vice President – Financial Controller and working closely with the Accounting Manager and other finance team members, the Staff Accountant will be based in Dublin and play an important role on our Accounting team.

The Staff Accountant will participate in the preparation of the Group’s quarterly and annual reporting deliverables and in the preparation of the Group’s month-end reporting.

• Preparation of annual and quarterly financial statements under U.S. GAAP;
• Production of the quarterly reporting deliverables for our shareholders and covenant reporting as part of our public debt issuance requirements;
• Facilitate and perform period close activities including reconciliations review and approval;
• Preparation of single entity subsidiary financial statements (IFRS/FRS 101). Liaising with external auditors and service providers on the delivery of financial statement audits;
• Prepare month-end and quarter-end close workpapers;
• Book all monthly entries;
• Collaborate with others in the department to support overall department goals and objectives;
• Assist in the development and implementation of new procedures to enhance the workflow of the department;
• Document workflows and understanding of processes;
• Complete other ah-hoc assignments and projects as required.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent) with 1 -2 years’ PQE preferred;
• Prior experience in aircraft leasing preferred;
• Proficiency with Sun Accounts is desired, but not a pre-requisite;
• Ability to prioritize tasks;
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail;
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines;
• Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment;
• Ability to interact with colleagues at all levels in and outside the organization;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
• Reliable and trustworthy;
• A team player with strong collaborative skills and desire to work in a dynamic and growing environment;
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel;
• Fluent in English; we are in an international business and languages other than English are a plus
